Felicity Holmes
BA FCA

Felicity has been painting for as long as she can remember. What began as a love for doodling with crayons surrounded by dogs, chickens and horses in the Derbyshire dales of England, has grown into a wonderful career in art that has landed her in Langley, British Columbia. She is surrounded by her two dogs, two adult children, and her very understanding husband that allows her to take over the house with her projects.

She obtained her BA with Honours in Fine Art from Loughbrough and began with some one-woman shows from there. In the 90s, she immigrated to Canada, relocating to Orillia in the Muskoka region. She managed an Art gallery for 7 years, putting on shows for Brent Heighton, Bonnie Marris, and Trish Romance to name a few. There, she also showcased her own work.

In 1998, Felicity relocated to Langley (Brookswood), British Columbia, with her husband and two children and was truly inspired by the surrounding nature and scenery. She began to explore more nature scenes in her work. She likes to create calm, quiet, reflective pieces that showcase the incredible imagery surrounding us that we tend to ignore in the rush and bustle of our daily lives.

"I just love how one can see the artist's personality emerging in their work."

Felicity continues to work on growing her skills and breadth of knowledge in her passion, and has been devoting time to taking workshops offered by fellow Langley artists and by the OPUS company. In 2017, she became a member of the F.C.A. and went on to join the Fort Langley Artists Group (FLAG). F.L.A.G. holds yearly exhibitions through the months of May-September in their gallery at the Langley Heritage Society CN station in Fort Langley, where Felicity has had the opportunity to show some of her work.

In 2018, she was invited to be included in the West Fine Art show Society where partial proceeds of painting sales go to benefit local charities. Felicity’s work has been collected in areas of the UK, New Zealand, and Ontario and she is also enjoys commission work.
